I recently flew from Seoul to Beijing on Air China and despite having a Transit Visa I was refused entry into China and kept there for almost 24 hours. Immigration Laws had change overnight and I was the World’s very first victim of this new rule. Luckily I had my camera with me and was able to document my experience. Air China admitted that they shouldn’t have boarded me in Seoul and sent me back to Korea on their expenses. Watch the entire video for the full story.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with immigration. You mentioned many times avoid flying on Air China but couldn't this happen with any other airline too? I mean the problem was with the transit visa after all and not with the actual airline. Sorry for saying this but it seems you are more angry at the airline and no review on the actual airline its self.

Totally unacceptable! What happened to your checked luggage? They should have reimbursed you for the flight to China and flew you back to Korea for free! You were fantastic staying so calm, I would have been sitting on top of their desk yelling until they fixed it!

Hi – I’ve always found China Airlines really helpful so I’m very sorry about this. By the way what happened to your hold baggage? Did you get it back in Beijing?
That is not the responsibility of the immigration of China for what happened. If u want to blame, it should be either the staff who did the check in for you, Could be a Korean who worked for this airline company or yourself, because it was your responsibility to check. A country might change its visa requirements/rules when necessary. If a person is deported, he will have to go back to where he comes from and has to bear the cost. That is the rule in general, not only in China.

Just this one looks a bit unbalanced.
1. Years ago you didn't follow immigration rules
2. The airline can only check by passport the entry rules
3. An airline can not access the internal system of any immigration institution, doesn't matter which country.
Rule #1 of travel: never ever check in your bag, always do carry-on.
i could of have helped you with your situation in China Beijing airport
I stopped over in China once, due to the travel agent i was using at the time….he never notify me of the required transit visa. Luckily the Singapore airlimes agent in Singapore sort it out. Am Canadian and there was 7 of us without transit visas . We were escorted by ground staff thru the airport immigration.(this was before the Huawei debocle). Ever since then, ive stopped using that particular Canadian travel agent and have stayed away from maindland china…..now HK is added to the list.
Most of us who regularly traveled internationally routes have endured tiresome and dehumanizing situations in airports, and onboard aircraft. I can't single out one airline over another, but there are airports (Bejing and Frankfurt) and countries (China and Germany) that I have learned to avoid at all costs.

Worst Country in the world. They spread Covid19 to all over the world & later the celebrate their success for spread this Pandemic.
Air China is a great airline, I fly them all the time. 5 stars.
