Please help my battery has gone and I can't run this laptop tip without it so please for advice how did you do it?The model is asus x553m and the battery is old and without it this model can't be turned on and you yes please help me
Your magic still works, i dont know how and why – but works. Thank You!
Where’s the cmoss battery located on x453m?
Perfect! Worked for an X553SA board in exactly the same way. With most batteries being non-removeable, even soldered onto the mainboard, this anti-static fix is increasing more difficult to implement.
I just fixed a coworker's laptop using this strategy. Unplugging the battery would probably be enough for me though. THANK YOU!
When I unplugged the battery from this laptop (the battery was getting "thicker" so I thought I should disconnect it and change it) after that it is not turning on. I've disasabled it Like 20 Times, bought a new batery but nothing helped, I've also tried heat up the whole motherboard with a heatgun but nothing. I can't think anything else just that I wasn't "protected" from static electricity. I've disasembled many PCs and laptops but this never happend to me.
That music killing me
technical videos with shit music and no explanation are rubbish. It is ten times better when the tech describes what they are doing.
I literally just had the same experience. I had a job to fix a faulty non powering on asus x553m and after probing it with the oscilloscope and multi metre, voila! she booted. I think it was dead due to the battery not recharging but can't be sure exactly.
I did all of those things, but now it's showing me starting windows and restart over and over again, what to do??
Where are you from?
Britan
excelent job
Hello can i ask you if you have manual of this motherboard? I m looking for it because i m doing project about this notebook to school. Thank you
Nerdy Kat – you are a lifesaver – middle of the lock-down and I manage to spill coffee on my laptop – despite it not being very much liquid and drying it out thoroughly it still wouldn't work – I followed your video and wow it's working again except the track pad but I think that's an easy fix – a connector broke when I was trying to put the 'tape' back in. So I just wanted to say thank you very much.
I plugged in a usb and the usb shorted, will this fix it?
Sexy hands
The "fix" was simply unplugging the battery. For whatever reason, these PCs need to have power cut completely to get the board logic "unstuck." Laptop won't so much as acknowledge the power lead being plugged in. Much less the power button presses as the logic is hung. Probably complete draining of the caps resets everything. A capacitor can be charged to full from even a "dead" battery.
At dirst it didnt work, i gave up, assembled everything back, then just decided to switch it on, and it came on! Thank you!
Amazing!
Thanksi
只是拆出來又裝回去,壞哪也不知!?維修有那麼好賺就好了…..
Thanks for help. Got same problem. Now it works.
Good video. I have one of these little machines with 8 gigs of ram, it's actually ok for day-to-day work. I'm thinking of doing an ssd-upgrade.
Thank you I was able to fix my laptop 😊

Hi, I know this is a LONG time since the video was posted, but I have a problem with my asus F553M laptop, I loaned it to my niece and the power pack died, she plugged in another plugpack that had the same voltage and the system immediately turned itself off, she then returned it to me with the plugpack both my original one and the other one she found, when I checked the voltage from the "new one I found that the power was reversed, instead of outer sheath being ground it was at 18.9v so obviously she had reverse voltage it, do you happen to know where to get a circuit diagram and or board overlay so I can find the protection circuit and replace the parts for the protection circuit? have already had it apart once to replace the hard drive after a "windows update crash" which put it into the "self repair" loop. thanks in advance if you ever see this.
Thankuuuuu very much dear…thanku…i just unpluged the battery and it fixed…but after i reconnect the keyboard part again my touchpad is not working..Now i have to use mouse…help me..why my touchpad stopped
Great! Thank you so much! I "magically fixed" my laptop as you did in the clip. Incredible! A technician told me to throw the laptop in the trash because he said the motherboard was "dead". He was completely wrong! Thank You very much. You're great!
You could just turn of the battery cable
Just unplugging the battery is enough, you dont need to disassembly the whole laptop. 😉
Tnxx frd that is so helpful for me
Thank you
very helpful..
Wow, this was great! Thank you! My secondary laptop died fully and completely this morning. Nothing was bringing it back (and I still had files that needed to be transferred). I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tore into it per your guidance, and was honestly quite blown away that it seems to be working now. Guess I'd better get to transferring those files. Way to go. =)
