Important message for all the peoples owning the R540L variant: your ram is actually soldered into the logic board. A second slot is available but it will not take more than 4gb of ram.
I just tried to upgrade my laptop with a 8gb memory stick and it isn't recognised by the system. Only the og 4gb are.
Is there m.2 slot in asus a540l

Good video, good image quality. Problems: before disassembling the motherboard, we proceed to disconnect all the data tapes and connectors, so that they are not damaged, and disassemble elements such as sd memories
I wanted to replace the thermal paste since the temps were too high…~85c while playing facebook games (65c idle) but the heatsink was melted in place, so it was a waste of time opening it.

Hello. It's strange, I've bought my X540L one year ago, and I have a SSD 256Gb and I have no DVD ROM Drive. It doesn't match with this video.
My laptop keeps going to automatic repair and I was told that I need to replace my hard drive.
If I buy a new one and attach it would that be ok?
You have GOT to adjust your intro and outro volumes to match the rest of the video. Had volume at max out of necessity because your voice was barely audible, to find myself deafened from your fucking outro!

It's a fucking awful laptop. Replacing the keyboard is a pain in the arse. A tip is, hot glue. To hold the new keyboard in place after being forced to break all the plastic tabs that hold the old keyboard in place.

Still a very useful reference video in 2019.. Also for the updated X540U.. Follow this video closely to avoid your laptop looking like a dog has been chewing on it.

Now put it back together again lol – only cause I'm about to do the same on a Asus X540LA . – Do not believe it comes with a DVD drive on that model but hopefully I can change out the RAM and put a SSD in. You mention processor do you know if that's upgradable in the future and to what?
