Biggest failure on the 9 formula & I can't believe you never mentioned it is that Asus made the 3A water pump header a slave to the 1A AIO pump header which renders it useless & uncontrollable!

These look cooler than the new z390 boards in my biased opinion (I have the code) the heat sinks look cheap on the new ones, and they just look more ‘plain’
@OC3D TV Top RGB header, near the CPU, is for RGB Waterblocks. That's why it's on the inside of the armor.

The biggest difference is the water cooling.
does it matter if i dont want to use water Cooling and still get the formula?
would it heat up too much?
Don't buy any ASUS motherboard! Error message constantly pops up requiring I goto Asus website to download "Turbo LAN" but when I go there they do not have it! Their website is un-navigable and they fail to offer a simple search and even when I input their own words their search turns up NOTHING!
Their error message continually screws with me.
Never buy ASUS!

GREAT review I just bought the Formula on Amazon "open box" for 250 dollars. I am going to put it in a Thermaltake 900 Supertower with a 7700K and water cooled with primochill copper tubing and EK 1080 water block and pumps with 2 loops. Should look sharp when it's done.

I have the formula with a 7700k and 64GB of corsair platinum dominator 3466 Ram. I have the auto overclock setup for the cpu. Do need to overclock the ram independently?
I remember when this MoBos where the greatest thing, but now that you compare the IX Formula with the Crosshair VI Hero, you realize how intel has been stealing you for the low features that you get for the price…

The Formula is the only reason I am going for Intel over AMD this time, otherwise AMD when me my first choice. A lot more boards should have "armor" or a equivalent. At least boards meant for gaming rigs.
these boards have always been too expensive for me to consider buying them. However, the audio options on this board has sold me for my next purchase

Well done! That is the most in depth look at this board i have found. Enjoyed that you took us on an actual visual tour of all the bits. First m.2 slot, nobody else shows you that. I will be watching you first for reviews.

Does anybody know how to turn off the RGB lights on the Code Motherboard when I power the computer off?
Currently the MB RGB lights are on 24-7.
And NO, I cannot find the answer in the manual.

How much difference is there between the Formula and the Rampage V 10? Are they still fairly close, or is there a monster difference? I'm leaning towards the Formula, but still waiting to see which board I can end up getting the best deal on. Thanks for the vid. Also, do you have a compatibility chart on your site, such as does the Maximus IX Formula work well with the Cooler Master Master Case Maker 5T? I would love that combo. Do you get information of when sales or deals are coming on this products?
stupid question but first time building a gaming rig I'm a bit confused can this mother board only be used with water cooling? or can it be used without? also does this have built in graphics card because HDMI on the back? sorry stupid questions but first time building rig and not use to all these high end mother boards for gaming totally different them building a every day pc for surfing the web. if not what's a decent graphics card to run with this and cooling system? thanks

Am I supposed to connect my h100 waterblock power to the aio header? I also have a fan hub in the case and should I connect that to the CPU header? I've seen different things and not sure what's best.
