I upgraded the stock HDD for a new SSD on this ASUS A541U. As usual, make sure you are disconnected from the charging cable. Did you have any trouble?

Thanks for making this tutorial and sharing it. We normally skip the removal of the keyboard and touch-pad cable. You can place the keyboard a bit to the left and can still reach the most left screw. It can save a lot of time because it can be a hassle to get them back in. And there is a risk of damaging them in the efforts to put them back.

Hey there! Quick question, I am using the X541UV model and I want to add a SSD. I would like to take off the DVD driver but my windows is already installed into my HDD. If I wanted to swap my DVD with an SSD, will it still improve my overall performance or do I HAVE to install windows into the SSD in order to feel a jump in my performance?

Boas João (acho que podemos falar em PT), tenho um pc exatamente igual e é bastante lento, suspeito que seja apenas o disco HDD que seja lento porque de resto o pc até tem componentes razoáveis, processador I3 e 4gb de ram não é assim tão mau que justifique a lentidão deste pc. O que te queria perguntar é se notaste uma grande diferença de performance com o SSD?
